Bernedoodles
All about this fun-loving dog
The breed
Petal | Once of our Bernedoodle Puppies as an Adult
The Bernedoodle is a mixture of a pure bred Bernese Mountain Dog + Pure Bred Standard Poodle. They carry the beautiful, soft coat of a Bernese Mountain Dog which makes them cold-tolerant but with curls like it’s Poodle parent to keep them from shedding. You will find the extremely affectionate nature of the Bernese Mountain Dog that just wants to be where you are & the silly and playful side of the Poodle (not to be interpreted as rambunctious or naughty, but more-so clever - doing things to make you smile). The Bernedoodle is very intelligent and learns quickly like both of it’s parents. They serve as great watch dogs alerting their owner when something is out of the ordinary but are non-threatening. We have found our Bernedoodles to be very hypoallergenic, finding little to no hair from them. The curlier the coat the more hypoallergenic they’ll be and our puppies tend to be curly all around. They are both calm and gentle with children and wonderful adventure-mates, always ready to have fun! A Bernedoodle is an excellent family dog. They also get along very well with other dogs, a playful, amiable breed.

Bernese Mountain Dog
The Bernese Mountain Dog originates from the the Mountains of Switzerland in the city of Bern. She is a large, sturdy worker who can stand over 27 inches at the shoulder. The thick, silky, and moderately long coat is tricolored: jet black, clear white, and rust. The distinctive markings on the coat and face are breed hallmarks and, combined with the intelligent gleam in the dark eyes, add to the Berner’s aura of majestic nobility - Quite a handsome dog. A hardy dog who thrives in cold weather, the Berner’s brain and brawn helped her multitask on the farms and pastures of Switzerland.
Berners get along with the entire family and are particularly gentle with children, but they will often become more attached to one lucky human. Berners are imposing but not threatening, and they maintain an aloof dignity with strangers. She is one of most affectionate and sweet natured dogs we know . (AKC)
It is the adoration of this breed that led to the breeding program with poodles making it easier to have them in the house with less shedding.

A Standard Poodle is one of the smartest and most trainable of all breeds. He is a "thinking" dog who pays rapt attention to his owner, learns quickly, and responds eagerly to positive training methods. He is friendly and politely reserved with new people and playful with a springy step with acquaintances. He is a sensitive dog that mimics your personality and makes a wonderful, calm companion, while being mentally stimulated.
