Life's Abundance Dog Food

Dog Food

Life’s Abundance

We use and highly recommend Life’s Abundance Dog Food. It is made from all natural sources and packed with nutrients instead of fillers like many popular feeds you’ll find on store shelves. This is not only good for their health but also means less stool. You can order it online and have delivered to your door and even subscribe to it to eliminate the need to remember to reorder. It is so well balanced that you can feed the same food, All Life Stages, to your puppy all the way through adulthood.

Type : All Life Stages
(your puppy will be on this when you receive him/ her and you can feed through adulthood)

*Grain Free Options as well as healthy treats, supplements and care products are available as well.

*See other products we recommend from Life’s Abundance below (training treats, ear formula, bath fresh mist & shampoo).

Dog Crate

Crate

For sleeping and house training your pup

If you are planning to crate-train your new pup, this style works great, as you can open on two sides, which gives more convenience depending where you choose to keep or relocate your crate, and has a removable pan at the bottom for easy clean up.

The 36” is a great start for your new pup, that will give him/her room to grow for several months. If you want to start smaller, the 30” will also work. Ultimately, you will likely need a 42” or 48” crate for your full grown dog - if you would like to start there you may. *We find that if the pup has less room in the beginning he/she is less likely to make a mess in his/her bed. Feel free to ask about crate training tips.

Puppy Bed

Bed for Crate

For the bed you use inside your crate, we recommend one that fills all or most of your crate while house training them.

This one has options to fit each of the 30”, 36” & 42” crates recommended above.

Puppy Collar

Collar

Getting your puppy used to a collar young is a great idea.

Somewhere between 10-13” collar length should be about right for your pup when they are 8 weeks old. Feel free to ask about your pup’s specific measurements. If you are receiving your pup at a later stage, we’d be happy to measure for you as well as they grow quickly week to week.

There are many options of collars you can choose, this is just one.

Puppy Harness

Harness & Leash

We recommend using a harness when you first train your pup on the leash as it won’t pull on their neck while they’re learning and is easier to guide them.

An XS or 14-18” Chest Girth will work great for your pup when you receive them at 8-10 weeks old.

There are many options, this is just one of them. Simple ones will do just fine.

Training Treats

Life’s Abundance

A good cuddle and play time after going to the bathroom is likely plenty reward for your small puppy. These treats are great for when you start to further train them commands like yes/ no, come, etc!

We recommend these treat from Life’s Abundance since they are full of great nutrition like their food, and you can feel good about feeding them while you train.

Puppy Chew Toys

Chew Toys

For teething & mental stimulation

Having a variety of toys for your pup to chew on and play with will help keep them both mentally stimulated, and from chewing on other things they’re not supposed to. These are both great starter sets that also clean & floss your pups teeth as they chew.

If you find that your pup is a vigorous chewer, some are more than others, you may want to get hard toys like this, which is also a dental assistant.

Bernedoodle Grooming Tools

Grooming Tools

For maintenance between professional grooming/ haircuts

We recommend having your Bernedoodle groomed by a professional every 6-8 weeks. Since their hair does not shed it needs cut routinely and a groomer will keep on top of your dogs nails, ears and overall hair health.

In between cuts, it’s great to have the right tools for brushing your dog and keeping mats out. You can start brushing your pup young to get them used to it. You can brush daily or as little or as often as needed. Doodle breeds need a little help with keeping their ears clean, an ear care formula can really help between grooming.

Bernedoodle Bathing Supplies

Bathing Supplies

For maintenance in between profession grooming

If want to give your Bernedoodle a bath at home in between grooming visits, we love this shampoo from Life’s Abundance which is safe for puppies over 12 weeks of age. An outdoor/ garage dog bath tub can be very handy but you can also have someone hold your dog by the collar while you bathe them as well, starting young will set you up for better success with this.
